Versatile Blogger Award and Blog of the Month

A while ago I received the Versatile Blogger Award from Rabia Gale. Thanks very much Rabia :)

According to the rules I need to:
* post the Versatile Blogger icon* (done)
* link to the person who nominated me* (done)
* share 7 things about myself* (see below)
* pass on the award to another 5/7/14 people* (it might have to be 3)

7 things about me
a) I'm a Lancashire lass, born in the north west of Britain.

b) I love folk music and used to clog dance - I've danced the one being shown on the clip. I still have my clogs.

c) As a child, one of my heroes was Robin Hood. He robbed the rich and gave to the poor. There was something about that caring for those who were poor, and found life hard, which appealed to me. (I managed to ignore the criminal side to his nature! ).

d) One day a week I work at Hidcote Manor Garden in Gloucestershire

e) History fascinates me, particularly the period between the two world wars - which is when my first novel is set.

f) I detest mobile (cell) phones.

g) My favorite holiday destination at present is the west of Scotland - it's a magical place and I've fallen in love with it.

I pass on this award to:
Bertie Bainbridge
Sari Webb
Emily Casey

  2. Congrats on the award!
That clog dance was so fascinating. How they could keep one foot tapping while spinning around on the other was quite amazing. You did that? So cool.
And I have to love the music--was that played live?

I hear you on the cellphones. While they are certainly handy in an emergency or to pass along a last minute message, I could never quite get the hang of talking on one and driving at the same time. In fact, I can never understand why it is necessary to do both simultaneously...

It's always fun to learn new things about my blogging buddies!

  3. Thanks Kirsten :)
Yes, I did that - it's all to do with balance and wearing wooden-soled clogs makes it easier. Music is played live. It was great fun :)
